The previous homeowners had left behind a giant concrete planter in the front yard; a giant eye-sore in the shape of a basket. David and I hated it at first sight, and knew from the start that it would be "renovated" at first chance (preferably when the neighbors/ex-owners were not home).
The demise of the planter turned out to be quite a spectacle. In addition to being a large chunk of heavy duty concrete, the secret ingredient was wire cable forming the framework. Didn't matter in the end, though, because David was determined to smash it to bits!
